esCarpade 2024 - Day 7 - Warrnambool to Apollo Bay to Geelong
Bluey was a bit chilled again waking up in Warrnambool... the weather guide said it was 4C with a "feels like" temp of 0.5C.
Breakfast in Warrnambool beside the lake...
Damian walked up to check out the beach on the other side of the dunes...
And they're off... heading towards Apollo Bay for lunch.
Stop at Childers Cove for a photo opportunity...
Next stop... London Bridge!
And no trip along the Great Ocean Road would be complete without stopping at the Twelve Apostles...
Past the "Brown Town Trak"...
Heading into Apollo Bay...
Lunch at the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse...
Randomly assigned number when lunch was ordered... 64!!
After lunch, Hoges had a turn driving... the Great Ocean Road.
Formed up ready to parade into town...
Just about there!!
FINISHED!
Bluey came out to entertain the kids big and small...
Time to go find their hotel...
So... the boys turned up at their booked accommodation only to be told that there was no record of them having booked (or of their $100 deposit). Damian was unable to find any confirmation email (although the motel said they don't usually send them), and either way, they were full...
The boys were pointed to a motel around the corner, but alas they were also full.
They headed to the nearest pub so Damian could plug in his laptop and try to find a place to stay, managing to get the last room with two beds in it in the motel!
They headed to that motel, checked in, went up to the room and discovered ONE BED!!
Not fancying a night of spooning, they called reception, and were "lucky to get the last room with two beds"... Damian pointed out that was the room he booked!!
esCarpade 2024... you've been... and gone.
