esCarpade 2024 - Day 2 - Jindabyne to Omeo (well, Benambra) to Bright

esCarpade Day 2 - the boys woke up in Jindabyne where it was even colder than Canberra...  Again, there are some videos at the bottom of the post.

Bluey was cold...

Windows were a bit frosted...

The Bluey mascot was barely visible...

The moon was still out...

And the boys headed to breakfast and got some great shots of Bluey beside Lake Jindabyne...

Before parking for breakfast...

Jindabyne has a world class skate park!

And a world class Hoges!

Sunrise...

OKA in the foreground and "OKA 2" in the back...

Bluey attracts them all... even the girls in blue!

Hitting the road towards Omeo for lunch... this trip would take the boys up and over the Snowy Mountains!

Always time for a quick selfie!

Welcome to Victoria!

Bluey spent a fair time stalking OV1 on the track...

Shortly after OV1 pulled over to take some photos, Bluey suddenly had a transmission where every gear selection was neutral!

Not ideal on a narrow, winding mountain road!

A tourist bus coming the other way had just enough room to squeeze past...

Before 444 came to the rescue to tow Bluey to a safe location...

Parked waiting for OKA...

After a few mechanical checks, it became obvious that it wasn't an issue that could be resolved on the side of the track... it was Bluey's turn for a trip on OKA.

Heading to lunch as passengers in OKA...

Hoges was either sleeping or meditating...

Damian was putting on a brave face while making many phone calls (whenever he had reception) in an attempt to locate someone who could fix Bluey...

A Snowy River Brumby...

Arriving at downtown Benambra for lunch (Omeo didn't have any suitable venues).

Rach getting some video footage of Bluey on OKA for the Camp Quality socials...

After a quick bite to eat (and checking with the local mechanic that he didn't have (by some miracle) a spare EL Falcon automatic transmission lying around), it was on to Bright still on the back of OKA.

Mount Hotham... there will be a fun stop there at some point, but the boys will miss it!

Arriving in the tree-lined streets of Bright...

Bluey on the back of OKA looking sad...

Dusty engine is dusty!

After many more phone calls, Damian located a mechanic in Echuca who "should" be able to find time to help him out, who put him onto a mob at Kyabram who "should" (and did) have an EL Falcon transmission sitting on the shelf...

Due to Damian's RACQ membership, and being a long way from home, tomorrow a tilt-tray will take the boys and Bluey to the mechanic in Echuca, who will hopefully also have received the automatic transmission...

Fingers crossed the boys will be back on the track after the rest day in Echuca!
