Fundraising - Corvettes on the Bay

Up before the sunrise, it was time to take Bluey to the Queensland Corvette Club's inaugural "Corvettes on the Bay" event in Manly on Brisbane's southern bayside.

Let's play "who did it better?"  Damian's 12 month old phone above, or 10yo digital camera below!

Arriving at Manly and setting up some Camp Quality signage...

Queensland Corvette Club have been supporting Camp Quality for over 30 years!

Lots of Corvettes lined up in their classes...

There were also some muscle cars invited, including this V12 monster!  It was truly impressive!!

B-b-b-bluey and the 'Vettes!!

Lined up from newest to oldest...

Here were some of the oldest ones on display...

Row upon row of Corvettes...

Lots of happy punters wandering through checking out the cars...

Signage!

Looking down the rows...

To the left...

To the right...

Lots of trophies...

Wonder if Bluey will win one?

Even some under-bonnet artwork was on display!

Bluey made a guest appearance...

Bluey felt the rhythm...

Even Bluey was impressed by the V12 engine!

As the day progressed, more people came through, and more kids were happy to have met Bluey!

Bluey dancing up a storm...

Bluey having a dance, while Damian does a quick trip around the car!

And the fresh decals still looked funky-fresh, even with a layer of dirt from Damian's driveway!!

Looks empty, but the crowd was to the right!

The crowd gathered to watch the trophy presentations...

And just like that, the day was over.

Massive thanks go to the Queensland Corvette Club for inviting the boys (and Bluey) down to their inaugural Corvettes on the Bay event...  and huge thanks to all those who stopped by to drop a note or a few coins into the donation buckets.  The boys managed to gather up a grand total of:

$165.65

Catch you all next time!

Bullbar and Bash Plate

Hoges was coming over for another working bee, so Damian went to pick him up from the train station in Bluey, and on the way home, stopped in to visit Steve at City Chicks in Samford to drop off some donation buckets in readiness for being there next weekend.

Once home, first job was to get the holes drilled to mount the bullbar...

Then before installing said bullbar, it was time to reinstall the engine bash plate!

The internet makes this look like a very smooth and quick process... the reality is there were several hours of sweating, swearing and frustration!

But once things started going smoothly, it was all smiles!

With theming finished, it was time to apply the first sponsor stickers for 2024... Shopplumbing Pty Ltd!

Looking the goods!

Bullbar levelled and tightened up.

And a few stickers, because why wouldn't you?

The large Bluey bonnet sticker in all its glory!

As per usual, Damian planned to get a heap of things done, but ended up getting a few things done.

Sunday 25 August 2024 will see the boys take Bluey down to the Corvettes on the Bay event at George Clayton Park - 55 Upper Esplanade Manly.  Drop by between 8am and 1pm if you are in the area!

Stickerising... aka Theming is FINISHED!!

The day has arrived... <drumroll> Bluey will be stickerised with Bluey stickers!!

First job - wash the dirt off...

Voila!  Is clean!!

Arriving at Monaghan Signs... Damian had reached out to long time Camp Quality volunteer and supporter Anthony Monaghan, who kindly agreed to supply some stickers for Bluey!

Going one better than that, he also had some of his professional staff apply them!  Hoges also came down to watch the stickers being applied!

Bonnet up to cool down ready for the big sticker, meanwhile smaller side stickers were applied.

Looking the goods!

The large bonnet sticker getting prepared for the first half...

Damian was massively happy that he didn't have to apply this particular sticker!

Looking fabulous...  The rear window has a pair of mirror-image Bluey stickers.

Each side has a matching set of Bluey, Chilli, Bandit and Bingo stickers...

And the bonnet has the Heeler family in all their glory!!

Finished product...

Parked up Damian's driveway on the way home for a quick photoshoot...

Just like being on esCarpade!

Massive thanks go to Anthony and his team at Monaghan Signs - the boys couldn't have hoped for a better outcome!

Now the theming is finished, the application of sponsor stickers can go ahead...  And the completion of the 1000 or so other outstanding tasks before esCarpade!!
